Perennials are plants that survive for many years with some taking more than one season to mature. When mature perennials produce fruit or flowers and seeds.
A biennial is a plant with a life cycle that spans 2 years. During the first year the plant germinates and grows. The second year it flowers, produces seeds and then dies.
