AROIDS
When it comes to Aroids you either love them or you can't stand them. In the plant world some Aroids are amongst the most beautiful and striking specimens out there. On the other hand some Aroids can be discribed as revolting or obscene.
What is an Aroid? The hallmark of the Araceae is the spathe and spadix inflorescence, a flower like structure consisting of a petal like leaf (the spathe) and a flower bearing protuberance (the spadix). Common examples of blooming Aroids are Anthuriums and Spathiphyllums (Peace Lilies).
To the left are links to several different Aroid Genera. On these you will find Species that belong to the Genus. In the future most will have photos.
