Monstera is a genus of mostly epiphytic Aroids, some of which have edible fruits. One species (Monstera deliciosa) is the commonly cultivated house plant - also called the Swiss Cheese Plants. These plants have aerial roots that grow downwards, either adhering to the trunk of the host tree, or simply dangling in the air, soaking up water that runs down them.
