  • SYNGONIUMS (NEPHTHYTIS)

The "Arrowhead Vine" or "Nephthytis" (Syngonium podophyllum) is a native of Mexico and Central America growing in moist to wet forests.

As Syngonium podophyllum matures the characteristics change which is why since around the 1850s there has been at least 25 botanical names for the same plant due to botanists finding the same plant growing under different conditions and at different stages of maturity. Young foliage has the shape of an arrow head. As the plant matures the leaves change becoming pedate or 3 parted.
