  • TREES, BUSHES & SHRUBS

What is a bush or shrub? A bush is defined as a low shrub with many branches. A shrub is defined as a woody plant of relatvely low height having several stems arising from the base and lacking a single trunk.

Bushes and shrubs do not have a single trunk, thus the distinction from trees. Bushes and shrubs may have flowers and possibly fruit like some trees. Most bushes and shrubs will have a mature height of less than 15 feet, considerably shorter than most trees.

Some of the groups to the left are not really trees or bushes but are sometimes refered to as trees, for example Bananas.
